Knitty City is a yarn store in New York City. I first visited the store when the original owner, Pearl Chin, was alive. Her son has taken over the store; she would be proud of him if he were alive. I believe other family members also work there.
It is a small but warm and inviting yarn store. Recently, they redesigned the store and created a more open concept. I noticed the change the minute I walked through the door. I especially like visiting the store when I need new yarn. As a yarn addict, you can never have too much yarn.
Stepping into a yarn store can be overwhelming, especially for beginners. However, at Knitty City, you'll find a perfect starting point. The knowledgeable and approachable staff are always ready to assist and answer any questions, making your visit a breeze. Their friendly demeanor and expertise make Knitty City a welcoming place for all, regardless of your yarn knowledge.
Knitty City is a yarn store that truly stands out. Its selection of yarn, organized by weight
and fiber, is extensive and incredibly helpful. The display of books, a swift yarn winder, and various accessories add to the store's charm. But what truly sets Knitty City apart is its free yarn corner, a thoughtful initiative that allows you to contribute to charitable projects. This and its robust online store make Knitty City a must-visit for yarn enthusiasts.
Knitty City is more than just a yarn store; it's a vibrant community hub. With its physical and online stores, it's a place where you cannot only purchase yarn, books, accessories, and gift cards but also become part of a lively community. The regular events like WIP on Wednesday nights, Men's Night/Book Club on Thursdays, and a Mending Circle night on Fridays, along with its in-store classes, make Knitty City a dynamic and inclusive place.
